Local cartoons were "the cat's meeow" as far as the Captain was concerned. On one hand local reaction was immediate -- but on the other hand, it was merely a stone's throw away! Captain Cartoon's illustrated viewpoints proved so effective that the Captain himself won three elections and escaped lynching twice.

The Captain's Cartoon Humor
