For very young kids
ABOVE: How most kids (and some adults) draw. Eyes are shown at the very top.
DRAW THE EYES in the middle of the head -- and your picture looks better already!
OLDER KIDS: Draw an oval, add guidelines as shown above, then, draw in the face! It's EASY!
Draw the Superhero Gangbuster!

FACE: Draw an oval with guidelines as shown above. Keep those guidelines light! Then finish it up with facial features.

Captain Cartoon 10-minute Learn-To-Draw Page
Want to draw like the Captain? These simple lessons will get you started! Just have a piece of paper, pencil, eraser and a felt-tip pen handy -- and start drawing!
DRAWING A FIGURE: Start out with a simple stick figure showing the pose you want to draw. Draw the body shape around the stick figure, then, finish it up. make sure the stick figure is light enough to erase.
HOW TO DRAW COMICS: Above, the picture is roughly pencilled in. Lettering guidelines are lightly drawn in with a pencil and ruler. Then, the lettering is added -- BEFORE the artwork is traced with ink. (see below.) Here is an important secret: Draw your comic twice the size it would be printed at. When you reduce it in size, everything will look sharper.
Using a Sharpie or felt-tip black pen, carefully trace over those pencil lines you want to show. Fill in with black where it looks good, let it dry, then erase all the pencil lines. When you really get good you can try using a paint brush and India ink to ink the picture, like the Captain did with this one. Read Ghost Story Club Comics!
You can't draw a good comic without a good story!
Sometimes writers and artists work together, and many times the artist writes his own story! Either way, English classes, science classes and math classes are just as important as art classes. To write a story, you need to know what you are writing about. How do you think Spiderman was invented? His creator did his English and science homework!
GANGBUSTER FIGURE: Draw a stick figure of the pose (right), then use shapes to show arms and legs. Finally, finish off the figure! Not only will you be drawing Gangbuster, you'll be drawing like gangbusters!
