Practice makes perfect. If you don't do it right the first time, perhaps your seventh attempt will succeed. You need to train your eye to truly "see" the object, and to draw that object accurately.

How many caricatures can you do in an hour? (Sue, Lke Worth FL.)

On the average, I draw 12-15 faces per hour on 8.5 x 11 paper, in black & white. At one recent birthday party I drew ten children -- in full color and full-figured -- in one hour. If I am just drawing faces and the crowd is huge, I've been known to produce 30 an hour. I err on the side of quality whenever possible.

Do you just do "realistic" caricatures? (Mariah, B.C. Canada)

No. I've done all kinds. If folks request "funny," they get it. Be careful what you ask for (heh!)

How many caricatures have you done? (R.L., New Jersey)

I have lost count, but 15,000 is a fair number. These drawings are hanging on walls in all 50 states, Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and other countries.

To what do you attribute your success as a caricaturist?

I thank God every day for this wonderful gift. This is all His doing.
